Honestly with the way the market on PC is going I would not be surprise that most games aren't even finished when they are released in the future, steam is full of "early access" titles that give devs the get out of jail free card of "its in alpha"
The big companies still drop the AAA titles but all new titles have become just "early access"
Another thing I am noticing is everybody is trying to make either the next best MOBA (massive online battle arena AKA League of legends/Dota 2) or they are going for the whole Open world sandbox "insert genre" type game
Open world gives devs the freedom of adding items and new areas in as DLC but the game doesn't play the same every time you play it because the player isn't confined to an area the size of Shipment on COD4, you can literally go anywhere you like.
I would love another game like COD4 but not COD4 to get us all pumped again, something different that isn't about KDA or who is max rank, a game where nothing is set in stone and we do as we please.
When DayZ is finally released on PS4 you guys should pick it up, it won't be limited to 3 man squads, its as many in as you like and you don't have to feel like playing solo is a chore.
There are also a few good titles now that are PC only, like Spintires is a great laugh 4 man truck driving sim, it makes you work together to delivery trees across a punishing landscape of deep mud and rivers that will sweep you away and wreck your day.
CSGO albeit having a PS3 version didn't take off on PS3, it is amazing on PC and is 5 man, with ranks that place you depending on your skill in game not playtime. each round you have X amount of cash to spend on equipment weapons and grenades and you have to defend/attack one of 2 bomb sites, tactics are what win most games and having a 5 man group to play with can be a lot of fun.
and lastly there are games like Skyrim where playing on console is great but the game comes alive on PC with 1000s of different mods you can add that give the game the added extra WOW factor and make it a legendary game.
Elder scrolls online (remember that) that goes Free 2 play next week and its an MMO based on the lore and story of the elder scrolls so if you liked skyrim and have a PC try it out.
The division is out some time this year, give that a go too, it might be the game we all need
